New Yanchep High School by 2019

A new $57.2 million secondary college in Yanchep will soon begin its first stage.

The school will cater for up to 725 students, K-11, when it opens in 2019.

The contract for the first stage was awarded to PS Constructions, which will construct the administration building, student services, medical centre, information resource centre, classrooms, staff facilities, science and technology blocks, a textiles studio, four laboratories, a sports hall, and a cafeteria.

This adds to the exisiting resources available to Capricorn Beach residents, as upon completion of the school, it is projected that the existing Yanchep District High School will become a dedicated primary school.

Education Minister, Peter Collier, has said that the Yanchep area has been undergoing unprecedented growth and emphasized the importance of a well-equipped senior high school for the area.
