Yanchep from Above

Check out these great aerial shots comparing current Yanchep to the Yanchep of 2009.

Perth-based company, Nearmap, documents the growth of Australian towns and suburbs by taking regular aerial photographs.

From nothing to a thriving community in just 8 years, it’s not hard to see why Yanchep was recently named Western Australia’s fastest growing suburb.

Nearmap chief executive Rob Newman said “When I was a kid Yanchep was a place you used to go on holidays, but now it is a suburb.”

The development had been in line with Perth’s major transport networks, including extensions of the Mitchell Freeway, Marmion Avenue,  and the Joondalup train line.

And see that circular park in the middle of the most recent photo? That’s Parktree Park, just one of the many parks and public open spaces that are part of the Capricorn Beach Estate.
